If you are a high achiever, this is probably NOT for you.
It’s not because you don’t need the info, it’s mainly because most high achievers won’t listen. They are so busy performing that they miss out on a lot.
I know, I’m one of them.
Here’s a great tip for all of us – even high achievers. It’s a great way to get the most out of the holidays.
Be with the family. Forget about work and forget about your to do lists. Relax, play and enjoy the weekend.
Life is about balance. There are times when you’ll be out of balance either way. You can be at work all the time or you can play all the time. The key is that when you decide to be somewhere, be there. Even if you have a thousand other things to do, be in the moment.
I can remember the time when “I was at work wishing I was at home” and “at home wishing I was at work”.
I totally missed everything. Now I’ve learned to be in the moment. Multitasking is not a skill set to continue during major holidays.
Holiday time is the time to calm down and focus on family, friends and those close to you.
It’s a time to rejuvenate your spirit and relax your mind.
Turn off your moblile phone. Unplug the computer and don’t check your email or text messages. Totally disconnect from any activity that distracts you from being in the moment.
Your kids need you to be apart of the experience. Your spouse wants you totally involved. Your family wants to be around you.
Just unplug and let it happen.
The return call can wait. The question on email can be answered on Monday. Matter of fact, the Internet will still be there when you turn your computer back on.
Enjoy the holiday and fill your heart with warm memories.
“At Christmas play and make good cheer, for Christmas comes but once a year.” - Thomas Tusser
